"He has a distinct strength to his voice that doesn’t come across as pushing it too hard. He hits every note magically..." – Nic Kelly - 2Day FM / Night High Records / Project U

It was late 2017 when surf coast singer-songwriter Coast & Ocean (Alex Johnson) made waves with his ode to Hollywood star Lindsay Lohan. The catchy record broke the mould for Coasty, racking up over a quarter of a million online streams, hitting the Spotify viral charts and scoring radio play across the country including love from Triple J breakfast hosts Ben and Liam. Now, nearly two years later, he's assembled an all-star cast to help him return in a big way with new single 'White Roses."

Produced by legendary Australian hip-hop producer John Reichardt (Hilltop Hoods, Draft, 360), mixed and mastered multiple ARIA award winning engineer / platinum selling producer Cam Bluff and featuring the angelic vocals of Berlin based talent Alice Hills; White Roses is a triumphant return for Johnson. A piece sure to capture the hearts and minds of his loyal following fiercely anticipating a follow-up project to 2016s fan favourite EP Doobies Girl.

A unique talent who effortlessly blends together genres, Coast & Ocean continues on with his distinct sound in White Roses. The song fuses infectious melodies with 808 drum patterns in a style that has seen him likened in the press to Post Malone, as well as earning a label as "the Australian Ed Sheeran"  from presenters at Triple J Unearthed.

"This dude's got something. It's chill and I could see appealing to both coastal knockabouts and fans of sensitive rap." - Dave Ruby Howe - Triple J Unearthed, Music Director

Humble, likeable and a proponent of honest, vulnerable storytelling, it's little wonder Coast & Ocean has built a strong organic following across the globe where he is constantly travelling. Both at home and abroad he can be seen regularly busking, gigging and playing festivals everywhere from St Kilda Festival to Surfana festival in Holland, and numerous in between.

Following his debut shows in New Zealand earlier last year, Coast & Ocean on toured throughout Europe, having played the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and the Avignon Festival in France, and numerous shows in Berlin.

2020 he returned to NZ and will tour back home in AUS showcasing his debut album due for release this coming Australian summer, along with a mixtape of unreleased gems!
